First hour / low waste route

Start clean.
Scale faster.

The early game is less about perfect luck and more about avoiding expensive mistakes. This route gets your free resources, secures a usable carry and keeps pity progress intact.

The route in one line

Redeem every code → finish Beginner Path tasks → use the limited beginner value first → stop after a viable carry → push Story → save toward a 50-pull Mythic guarantee.

0–10 minutes: claim launch resources

Open the three-dot menu, choose Redeem Codes, and claim every code listed on our Anime Expeditions codes page. Codes currently supply Gems, Trait Crystals and reroll items. Do this before summoning so you know your full budget.

Do not reroll traits on the first unit you plan to replace. Trait Crystals are a long-term resource; a basic early unit only needs to clear enough content to unlock better income.

10–25 minutes: understand pity before pulling

Community documentation currently reports a Legendary guarantee at 20 pulls and a Mythic guarantee at 50 pulls. Confirm the counter shown on your banner because counters may be banner-specific and rules can change during launch.

Use the beginner or limited-value banner while its account-specific benefit is active, then decide whether the featured pool improves your weakest role. Ten-pulls are convenient, but the guarantee—not the animation—is what protects your resources.

25–45 minutes: build a balanced first team

Prioritize one wave clearer, one boss-focused damage dealer and cheap lane coverage. Your strongest rarity is not automatically your best first placement: upgrade cost and attack area determine whether a unit helps before the final wave.

  1. Place inexpensive coverage near a long bend.
  2. Upgrade one carry instead of spreading currency across every slot.
  3. Add boss damage only when normal waves are stable.
  4. Move into harder Story stages when your clear is consistent, not barely successful.

45–60 minutes: turn progression into income

Complete first-clear rewards and Beginner Path objectives, then compare repeatable modes by Gems per minute. A short reliable stage usually beats a longer stage you can only clear occasionally. Read the complete Gem route before committing to a grind.

Three mistakes that slow new accounts

1. Chasing every rotating unit

A half-built pity counter across several banners gives you no guarantee. Pick a target and understand whether pity transfers.

2. Spending rerolls on temporary units

Keep premium reroll materials for a carry you expect to evolve and use in several modes.

3. Ranking rarity above team function

A cheap Legendary that covers the lane can enable an expensive Mythic carry. Use the Anime Expeditions tier list as context, not a command.

Verification rule: Launch values can change quickly. The banner counter and in-game reward preview are the final authority whenever they differ from a guide.
